At B&B, we’ve recently added the Haas ST-20 with Automatic Parts Loader (APL) to our fleet – a significant step forward in our turning capabilities and overall machining efficiency.
The ST-20 expands our turning capacity, while the APL integrates automated part loading and unloading directly into our processes. This allows for longer unattended run times, faster cycle completion and consistent accuracy across every part.
But how?
The APL’s intuitive interface allows our machinists to easily teach the system where and how to load, unload and handle each part. This ensures precise, repeatable movement and minimal downtime between cycles.
With live tooling and C & Y-axis capability, we’re also able to mill parts in-cycle up to 150mm diameter, reducing setups and improving consistency across both small and large batch sizes – typically ranging from 50 to 1,000 components.
This means no longer interrupted run-time, better repeatability and more efficient use of our machines on the shop floor. As a result, we can provide shorter lead times and faster, more reliable delivery to our customers.
